About Mikayla
Mikayla Hotton is a practicing artist specialising in animation, puppet and set builder and the founder of MikAnimate.

Mikayla has directed, written, produced and animated three major stop motion animation films. Mikayla has been trained in different forms of digital and traditional animation but is most interested to the practical hands on type of work involved in stop motion animation and puppet making. Mikayla meticulously sculpts all sets and props by hand and giving backgrounds a character of their own. Mikayla’s style of filmmaking can be described as innovative and captivating.

Mikayla holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Animation Degree at The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and has since worked at Sharp FX, a Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s production, Lead Puppet Fabricator on Adam Elliot's Stop Motion Feature Film "Memoir of a Snail" and independent small films and projects.
