Tour Guide: MeiMei Hodgkinson
MeiMei 莓莓 Hodgkinson is a Chinese Australian multidisciplinary artist living and working on Bunurong and Wadawurrung lands. Working across photography, sculpture, installation, and textile, her practice explores migrant identity through autobiographical narratives shaped by her experiences as a first-generation migrant artist and mother. Using materials and techniques drawn from craft traditions, MeiMei challenges hierarchies between fine art and craft, and questions ideas of permanence and monumentality. She has been a finalist in multiple Australian art awards, including the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize (2024), Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize (2025), Ellen José Art Award (2025), and Wyndham Art Prize (2026).
